An overnight fire destroyed a Johnstown home.

Firefighters said the house located on the 500 block of Duwell Street is total loss after flames broke out in the home’s basement around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Investigators ruled the fire accidental and said it was possibly an electrical fire.

One woman inside the house at the time got out safely. However, her dog died in the fire.
