There’s something to say about people teaming up and helping the ones who need it most.

“I don’t think there’s anybody that can turn on the news in the morning and not feel like they should help out the poor people in Texas,” Bill Ward, the CEO of Ward Trucking, said.

The workers at Ward Trucking and DelGrosso Foods are loading up a whole lot of sauce to send to San Antonio, a journey more than one thousand miles.

“Looks like about 4,000 jars,” Joe DelGrosso, CEO of DelGrosso Foods, said. “That should feed approximately 16,000 people.”

The two family owned companies are working together to help feed the victims of Hurricane Harvey.

“You just feel compelled to help out where you can,” Ward said.

Some items from our region are going on wheels. It’s a two day journey to Texas.

Other items are being sent by mail. Penn State Athletics saw the need and packed up boxes filled with extra shirts and shoes.

“It’s criminal not to do something,” head baseball coach Rob Cooper said. “It’s not even a question of why are we doing it, it’s a question of what else can we do?”

It’s the little things, like dry clothes and a nice meal, to show Central Pennsylvania cares.
