Osceloa Mills iks participating in the ‘our town blue’ campaign for the month of April, child abuse awareness month. Buisnesses and members in the community are wrapping poles in blue ribbon, and handinging signs to bring awareness to child abuse, and prevent it from happening within the community. 

On April 9th, at 4 p.m. volunteers will be meeting at the Osceloa Mills park, near CNB bank. Mayor Ida Reams will be making some announcements, while volunteers will be handing out blue Ribbons to the public. 

About a month ago two Osceloa Mills residents Stephanie McGuire and Aaron Mills were arrested after police say they abused their three week old baby Lily Jane. Planners of the ‘our town blue’ have also organized a “Light Up for Lily” benefit and spaghetti dinner on April 29th at the Osceloa Mills Columbia fire company’s fire hall. All proceeds will be benefiting the Children’s Miracle network at Geisinger. According to police Lily Jane was treated at the Geisinger at Daniville, which is a Children’s Miracle network hospital.
