The National Transportation Safety Board released their preliminary report today.

They say low oil pressure from a leak may have led to the plane stalling and crashing on its trip from Indiana to our region. A family of four were injured, but everyone survived.

The pilot, Doug Zollinger told the NTSB that he knew about a leak, but could not find where it was leaking from so he topped the oil off before leaving for the area.

He tried to land the plane, but the engine stalled on him and the wind pushed him from the runway crashing into a wooded area.

He had received his certification in June and had logged 376 hours prior to the crash.
