Governor Wolf is urging lawmakers to pass two bills that would help protect animals in Pennsylvania.

House bill 1216 makes it illegal for a dog or cat to be in an unattended vehicle which would endanger its health and well-being.

It would also provide conditional civil immunity to law enforcement, animal control and other emergency officials for any property damage done while rescuing the animal.

And Senate bill 1154 would require more transparency about the health and behavioral issues when an animal is purchased from pet stores.

Both bills are currently waiting for consideration.
