Cambria County Crime Stoppers and the Area Agency on Aging launched a new hotline Thursday, for anyone to call to figure out if they are being scammed.

Usually, it’s difficult to file charges or get money back if you fall for a phone scam, so it’s important to be aware of them.

“Be diligent and get the word out to venues that seniors participate in so they know the latest scams. They’re forever changing. The people who run these scams, that’s how they make a lot of money,” said Ed Sedlock, Protective Services Supervisor for the Area Agency on Aging.

You can find out about phone scams by calling the new hotline: 1-844-542-7463.
