PennDOT has released more details on where drivers will be able to access the proposed I-80, I-99 high speed interchange. The goal is for the interchange to provide a safer traffic pattern for drivers.
A new access road connecting state route 26, what locals know as Jacksonville Road, and I-80 will come from a new exit that will be built two miles east of the current exit. The new exit will feature on and off ramps from I-80.
Improvements will also be made to Jacksonville Road leading up to the new exit. This includes re-paving and widening the road
The new access road will be funded by a $34 million federal grant received by PennDOT last year.
