A restaurant in Centre County is welcoming a new chef this week.

Winston Blick is hoping to spice things up at the Elk Creek Cafe and Ale Works in Millheim.

Blick previously owned a restaurant for nine years in Baltimore.

He wanted to move to Central PA and crossed paths with the cafe.

Blick said the restaurant is already fantastic but wants to help utilize more local resources and produce more seasonal specials.

He said transitioning from an owner to employee is a new and exciting adventure for him as a chef.

“it just seemed like a good healthy challenge. You know, you need to be able to make food with people who make really good beer, and match that!” Blick said.

The manager of the cafe said it’s an exciting time for the restaurant to try new dishes and expand their options for customers.
