The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that a long-term temporary signal will be installed on Route 26 at the westbound off ramp of Interstate 80 at the Bellefonte 161 exit.

The new signal will be activated Monday, August 13, and will be in “flash” mode until it becomes fully functional on Thursday, August 16.

The signal is being installed as a safety precaution, intending to help ease congestion and back-ups on I-80 when the traffic is heavy.

This signal changes the traffic pattern for the area, and message boards will prepare westbound drivers to the upcoming signal.
