New analytical lab at Innovation Park

On Friday, Penn State and RJ Lee Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding to expand and strengthen their collaboration in areas such as materials and transportation.

RJ Lee Group is a leading industrial forensics analytical laboratory and is opening a new location at Innovation Park in December.  They plan on teaming up with local industries as well as Penn State to bring new research and job opportunities to the area.

The university says it’s part of their mission to facilitate a strong relationship with the private sector.

“We really feel that at Penn State this is part of our land grant mission to grow the economy in Pennsylvania, enhance industries, and create new jobs.  In doing all of that, we actually will enhance student career success,” said Neil Sharkey, Vice President of research at Penn State.

This is all part of Invent Penn State, which is the university’s initiative to spur economic development, job creation and student career success.

“We’re bringing jobs, but also new kinds of jobs.  New types of jobs that every place needs, and Centre County needs especially,” said Richard Lee, CEO of RJ Lee Group.

RJ Lee Group plans to offer cost-effective analytical laboratory services, and looks forward to becoming an integral part of the local economy in Centre County.
