Mount Aloysius College has created a new club for students who are outdoor enthusiasts.

This is the first year for their Clay Sports Club.

This program allows students to practice their shot while aiming at clay discs. Firearms and ammunition are provided and participants practice at the Cresson Sportsman’s Club.

As part of the College’s new outdoor club, a competitive clay sports team is being developed from the Mountie Clay Sports Club. The Association of College Unions International (ACUI) sponsors a clay sports league as a club activity for students across the country. The focus of the team will be trap shooting.

Trap shooting is one of three disciplines of clay pigeon shooting where targets are launched from a single machine a distance away from shooters.

The College has developed a program and safety handbook as well as safety protocols and systems to ensure every student is safe.
