More than 100 exotic animals rescued from house

Animal humane officials are trying to figure out what to do with nearly 100 animals found in a house in Lehigh County.

Many of them are exotic animals including reptiles, birds, and fish.

Unfortunately, authorities say they also found dead animals in the house.

Officials say conditions inside were deplorable with urine, droppings and countless animals living on top of one another.

The situation is not only dangerous to the animals but to the community too.

“A constrictor of that size, you know a 15-foot constrictor, there are small animals that live in the neighborhood, young children, its very dangerous,” said Teisha Jones, Lehigh County Humane Society.

The rescued animals were then taken to the Humane Society where inventory and medical treatment will begin.

The animals’ conditions range from emaciated to dehydrated.

No arrests were made but the county humane society says it plans to file animal cruelty charges.
