JOHNSTOWN Pa. (WTAJ) — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced today that Quaker Stakes Corporation, of Johnstown, will begin milling work on the Route 56 pavement preservation project in the City of Johnstown starting on Tuesday, May 28. 

The contractor will be working in the area from the Stone Railroad Bridge to 3rd ave in Cambria County. 

During the week of June 3, the contractor will work in the area of 4th ave from Broad Street to Power Street. 

Work will consist of milling and then the placement of asphalt pavement. 

They anticipate, having the pavement work done by June 7. 

Motorists are advised to take alternate routes. 

All work on this $895,091 project is expected to be completed by late June 2019.
