Bellefonte, Pa- Tuesday, 7 Beta Theta Pi brothers had their preliminary hearing, some facing charges of reckless endangerment along with charges of Involuntary manslaughter, related to pledge Timothy Piazza’s death.

This is at least the 4th preliminary hearing all 7 brothers are facing. Now with a third judge: Carmine Prestia.

Part of Tuesday’s afternoon hearing included a member of the FBI’s computer forensic team’s testimony about his recovery of what he examined to be a “clear all data” action of video from the night of Piazza’s death…that he said can only be done manually.

Pledge Braxton Becker is charged with deleting the video.

His lawyer attempted to make the argument that the system could’ve been set up for anyone to delete the video from a remote location through the Internet, and that all the record shows is an admin logging in before the video is deleted.

At the moment Becker is looking at tampering with evidence charges.
