Meet the co-founders of Fresh Start Soap Pantry

Two Cambria County women want to help people in the region get access to hygiene products.

The Fresh Start Soap Pantry gives out hygiene products for free to people in need, whether they are homeless, recovering addicts or just can’t afford them.

The hygiene kits include products like deodorant, shampoo, soap and toothpaste. Each kit costs about $6-$8 to make. The pantry has about 40 to 50 kits available, however, that number varies each month based on donations.

Now, the co-founders are trying to grow the business and get consistent donations so they can help more families in need.

You can drop off donations of hygiene products at Beginnings, 111 Market Street in Johnstown or Skills, 957 Rowena Drive in Ebensburg.

If you are in need of a hygiene kit, you can pick them up at those locations, as well as the Johnstown Free Medical Clinic (Highlands Health), 340 Main Street in Johnstown.
