A 38-year-old woman is accused of stealing thousands of dollars of merchandise from a Dollar General store, while working as the assistant manager.
Lamar State Police say the thefts at the store in Beech Creek, Clinton County, took place over the course of three years. Then, when Kelly Jo Smith was promoted to manager, police say she began ringing up undamaged items as damaged and taking the money from the register.
According to police, she’s been charged with the thefts.
