McMullen pleaded guilty to stealing the gun and after a presentence investigation, McMullen was sentenced to five to 10 years in a State Correctional Institution.
McMullen appealed his sentence, but the Superior Court upheld that sentence.
“In my experience, it is rare for the Superior Court to uphold a maximum sentence like the one Judge Zanic sentenced Bradley McMullen to,” said Huntingdon County District Attorney Dave Smith. “The impact of Trooper Weaver’s homicide has had a profound and lasting effect on our small community, and I am glad to see that we are able to get some justice.”
