Police said a 73-year-old man was taken to the hospital Friday after being hit on I-99 near mile marker 31 in Blair County.

Officers said Gary Mosel was walking along the side of the interstate, but then began to cross onto the roadway.

We’re told a driver saw Mosel and threw on his brakes, but unfortunately it wasn’t quick enough. Mosel was hit and taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver who applied his brake was also struck from behind by another vehicle.
