Officials are investigating after a man was found dead after a garage fire.

57-year-old Barry Hale was found dead in his home after a fire broke out early this morning on Veta Road in the Westmont section of Johnstown.

Fire crews arrived after a neighbor called police saying she saw heavy smoke coming from the home’s nearby garage.

The fire was contained to the garage, but smoke was throughout the home.

The state police fire marshal is determining a cause of the fire.  An autopsy is being done on the victim to determine how he died.
