A Blair County man charged in connection to the death of a high school senior is scheduled to be in court today.
Jacob Helsel has been charged with accidents involving death, tampering or fabricating evidence, and falsifying information to police in connection to the death of 18 year old softball star Mikayla Focht.
Police say Helsel was driving the Jeep that hit Mikayla moments after she and Trenton Bilak were thrown from an ATV in Greenfield Township back in April.
Police say Helsel and Bilak did not call police until two hours after the crash, when Mikayla was already dead.
Helsel’s preliminary hearing is set to begin at 1:00 this afternoon.
