Allegheny and Cambria County executives have big plans for the future.
They’re calling it their Bridge to Pittsburgh effort. By partnering with one another, the two counties are hoping to develop commuter transit, and remote work jobs at home in Cambria County linked to Pittsburgh’s growing economy.
Officials say teaming up makes it easier to continue growing the region.
“It’s a new generation with new technology, new education, a new way of life…biking and transportation… and ride share and just a different way of living and I think this is something if we’re going to succeed, we need to adapt,” Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald said.
Fitzgerald says the first step is for the counties to connect transportation wise.
