Blair County, Pa. (WTAJ) The power is back on for hundreds of Blair County residents after an outage early Monday morning.
The outage impacted several communities in the northern part of the county, including Tyrone where highway crews set up stop signs in place of stop lights.
Local restaurants also took steps to make sure none of their food was spoiled by the outage.
“We had to shut down our systems to make sure we save our power to our food product. Our freezers and coolers. Right now we’re down in sales, of course, we’re losing our breakfast sales,” said Burger King General Tammy Leech.
As many as 1,500 homes were without power.
Those outages also forced the Bellwood-Antis and Tyrone School Districts to operate on 2-hour delays Monday morning.
Penelec says they had the power back on by 3:00 p.m.
