A Luzerne County man is facing charges in Centre County after police say he committed forgery.

Police in Spring Township say Austin Thomas helped forge 14 signatures and two approval dates on the building plans of the new Wendy’s location that will be built on Buckaroo Lane.

The township manager and zoning officer went to police after they noticed unusual signatures on those plans, including one from a fire marshall who hadn’t worked for the town in more than 10 years.

As of Tuesday night, Thomas is out of jail on bail.

According to our news partners at the Centre Daily Times, Thomas waived his preliminary hearing that was set for 8 a.m. Wednesday.

The Wendy’s location is still expected to be built.
