People are raising their voices to show they stand with the victims of the violence in Virginia
Over the weekend protests turned deadly in Charlottesville, VA, as white nationalist marched on the University of Virgina Campus. One woman was killed and 19 others were injured when a man plowed his car into a crowd of people on Saturday.
A few hours later, a Virginia State Police Helicopter crashed, killing two Troopers.
In our area, dozens rallied at Penn State’s Main Campus.
Some say they came together to stand up for justice and prevent things like this from happening in the first place.
Doug Kulchar, the event organizer had this to say, “it’s crucial that we show people small town America is not what people assume, that’s its a progressive place filled with people who care and are saying no to hatred.”
We’re told many people left the rally last night with a feeling of power and like they can make a difference.
