Veteran Community Initiatives (VCI) announced the 2018 inductees into the The Chapel of Four Chaplains’ Legion of Honor during a ceremony at the Hiram G. Andrews Center Thursday morning.

Eight honorees were chosen for their “selfless service” helping veterans or the community. They include General Anthony Carrelli, Elmer Laslo, Craig Minnick, Gary and Rose Poborsky, John Polacek, John Skelley and Dan Yost.

One honoree, Craig Minnick, is a U.S. Army veteran who founded a scholarship in honor of a local Johnstown man killed in Iraq.

“I do the volunteer work not because of what I get out of it, but what I can do for other people. So, I guess I’m happy to be honored because that means I’ve done something for my fellow veterans and those in the community,” said Minnick.

All the honorees will be officially inducted into the Legion of Honor during a ceremony in October.
