A Cambria County man and his step-daughter are spearheading an effort to put together care bags for people affected by Tropical Storm Florence and they’re asking area residents to pitch in with donations.
Bentley’s Blessing Bags, named after eight-year-old Bentley Padilla, contains everyday items for adult men, adult women, and children.
You can donate items such as toothpaste or deodorant. For kids, small toys are also being accepted or you can contribute money. Bentley and her stepdad Anthony Dziabo will use it to fill the bags.
Lang Real Estate in Cresson is one of the drop off spots for donations. On Saturday, Anthony and Bentley also plan to be accepting donations at the Walmart in Ebensburg, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and at the Altoona Walmart from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. They plan to be at the Walmart in Johnstown from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday.
