What began as a small startup stemming from Penn State, has become a booming success.
DiamondBack Truck Covers started in a two car garage, but on Wednesday it debuted its newest facility that’s 40,000 sq. ft.
The company has been manufacturing covers for truck beds for 14 years in Philipsburg.
Ethan Wendle, Co-Founder of DiamondBack, said over the years they’ve upgraded plants, but they’ve grown 55% since last year and it was time to expand.
Currently they have sixty employees, and they’re looking for new hires to join the new facility.
The positions focus on manufacturing, like welding and fabricating.
Wendle says DiamondBack takes a lot of pride in hiring, producing, and partnering local.
“Going to do all of our stuff with guys who are our friends and neighbors in town as well, has been important to us both from the standpoint of keeping money in the economy here, as well as just creating a feeling and an environment that is pro growth,” Wendle said.
About 300 people were expected for the grand opening of the new facility in Centre County.
