A group of local students will soon get the chance to sing with a member of the country music hall of fame.

Kenny Rogers will be joined by the Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School Fantazia choir on Friday at the Jaffa Shrine in Altoona.

The show is a part of Roger’s farewell tour.

It will celebrate his 50-year career and look back at some of his accomplishments.

The students and their parents are excited to be a part of such a unique opportunity.

“Once they went home and said something to their parents, they came back excited the next day,” said Wendy Jo Nagy, the choral director. “They said oh, my mom is excited we’re singing for Kenny Rogers. We’ve listened to some of his pieces, and they recognize him, and some of his videos, so we’re really excited about this.”

The show is at 7:30 on Friday night, and tickets are still available.
