Some local streetlights will go dark for an extended period of time.

Altoona Police said that the streetlights on Union Avenue from approximately 26^th Street to 31^st Street will be off for at least a week or more.

The City of Altoona, Department of Public Works, Electrical Crew and Penelec are aware of and are working on the issue.

A dead ash tree fell in the Columbia Park area and damaged the electrical service.
