The Sitting Bulls Sled Hockey Team gives people with disabilities the chance to get out on the ice. On Sunday, the team showed off their skills at their annual charity sled game at the First Summit Arena, Cambria County War Memorial.

It was the Sitting Bulls versus celebrities such as WTAJ’s K. C. Kantz , and educators.
The game is a fundraiser for the sled hockey team, and it helps pay for most of their ice time.

“Each sled costs about $800 and we try to provide this opportunity for the kids to play at no cost to the family,” said Joe Breton, coach of the Sitting Bulls Novice Team.

Breton said most of the families already have enough medical costs to deal.

He describes sled hockey as a full contact sport that requires speed skill, and agility.

The Sitting Bulls teams are open to players with physical disabilities from five years old through adults.
