The Relay for Life  is coming to an end in one local community. The local office of the American Cancer Society says volunteers for the Northern Blair Relay have decided to discontinue the Bellwood event.

According to the society, not enough people were available to organize it. Instead, the Northern Blair Relay has merged with the Central Blair Relay in Altoona. The new effort will be called the Blair Relay for Life.

Their next Relay is scheduled for June 8, 2018  at Mansion Park in Altoona.

This year, volunteers raised $26,000 at the Relay for Life in Bellwood.
