There’s something about music that has kept local musician Zupe playing for more than 40 years.
“There’s something that just drives us and we need to keep doing this,” he explained. “We need to express ourselves. It’s our breath.”
Music is something he’s been doing since elementary school and he’s had quite the journey.
“I once had this woman come up to me after her show on her walker and she takes my hand and she says ‘you made me feel 16 again,'” Zupe smiled. “How perfect was that? How could I not keep doing this for the rest of my life when I have people like that?”
Zupe does live performances and has multiple albums and awards. He’s even had a shot at the Grammys. He’s been a voting member for about 10 years and one of his records made it to the semi-finals.
You also might have heard some of his music in popular television shows.
“My first big break was getting music placed on ‘Malcolm in the Middle’ and from there it was Dateline NBC and just a whole bunch of tv shows since then,” he said.
Zupe has been hitting all the right notes. Creating music is his dream come true.
“The one thing that I truly love doing is making music, sharing music with the world, and performing music in front of people,” Zupe told us. “I am blessed to have that.”
