A Blair County man who suffered a tragic loss is stepping up to make Easter special for kids in need.
Martin Garrett’s son, Eli, passed away from cancer, just 10 days before his 4th birthday.
Garrett created Easter for Eli, in his son’s memory.
He collects and puts together baskets with gifts for children who are in the hospital during the holiday.
“We never want to let Eli’s legacy be forgotten and the joy that he brought into our lives,” said Garrett. “So with doing this basket collection, we can share a bit of Eli’s joy.”
The baskets will be donated to 25 Children’s Hospitals in 12 states.
This is the 5th year for the collection.
Their goal is 5,000 baskets.
If you would like to donate a basket, the deadline is March 31.
You can contact Garrett to make a donation on Facebook at Easter for Eli, or by emailing him.
