Local kids enjoy back-to-school party with Chick-fil-A and police

Local kids enjoyed a back-to-school party with Chick-fil-A and local law enforcement.

Chick-fil-A in Altoona hosted a back-to-school event for local kids Tuesday night. Children were able to meet and interact with members of the Duncansville and Allegheny Township Police Departments and the Blair County Sheriff’s Department.

This idea came as a way to hopefully better connect local departments with the youth in the community.

“We were honored that Chick-fil-A contacted us and wanted to wanted to partner with Allegheny Township,” said Blair County Sheriff James Ott. “Police and the sheriff’s office to come out and be able to work with the community.  I’ve said it all along, our job and our slogan that I’ve used for a while now is bridging the bond between our law enforcement and our community and tonight is just another great example of doing that.”

Sheriff Ott also said when you interact with the kids at a young age it hopefully helps them stay on a good path moving forward.
