Local hospital working to become Level 2 trauma center

DUBOIS, Pa. (WTAJ) — Penn Highlands DuBois is working to become a level two trauma center.

That means they will be able to care for severely injured patients that are usually sent to Altoona or Pittsburgh.

The trauma center would be part of a $111 million expansion.

Penn Highlands Healthcare expects to start construction on the eight construction projects in the spring.
