It’s National Small Business Week and a local gym is celebrating with a new location.
Victory Sports and Fitness has been in Centre County for 13 years.
In June it is opening another branch, Empower Fitness, which will be located in Bellefonte.
Staff says unlike major franchises, supporting local gyms, helps the local economy.
Danielle McHenry, co-director of Empower Bootcamp, said “you’re supporting a local business, you’re supporting a local fitness center rather than a big box.”
Lauryn Weaver, co-director of Empower Bootcamp, said a new location in Mifflinburg is also in the works.
“Just amazing all the different opportunities and the different towns surrounding that we’re working with,” Weaver said.
Empower Bootcamp is expected to open the first week of June.
