A Blair county group fighting childhood cancer is looking for volunteers to help them meet a major milestone.

The Brain Morden Foundation holds the gold ribbon games and other events every September to raise awareness and funds to tackle childhood cancer.

The group also fields a team of walkers in a national effort called Alex’s Million Mile.

This year they’re nearing second place the country for the number of people recruited.

“We’re thrilled that so many people are getting involved and realizing that so much more needs to be done,” said Dawn Morden from the Morden Foundation.

It doesn’t cost anything to register for the BMF team, although a donation would help.
