A local couple won recognition on Thursday for their service to their community. The Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation today gave its highest award to David and Janet Hileman.
The Philanthropy Award honors residents who’ve given generously of their time and money for the benefit of the community.
The Hilemans own Hilecrest Farms in Sinking Valley, Blair County. David Hileman credits his experiences in the 4H Club for the couples’ success with their business.
“One of the greats joys in life is to be able to give back and the actual giving back brings satisfaction beyond most people’s beliefs,” Hileman said.
The foundation also awarded scholarships to more than 100 high school students from Central Pennsylvania.
