An autism center in our region is having an impact across the globe. This week, autism specialists from China are visiting the Journey Center in Duncansville.

Doctor Jia and her team from Beijing University are working with Center Director Kimberly Bennett and her staff. They’ve collaborated before,  and Bennett has trained autism teachers and therapists in China. For the next two months, two interns from the Chinese group will remain at the local center to study its techniques.

“That’s probably some of our biggest successes is making learning fun and engaging and yet using a science behind it and techniques that have been proven to work and then we see results from it,” Bennett said.

Journey Center provides behavioral therapy for children in Bedford, Blair, Centre, Mifflin, Fulton, and Juniata Counties.
