The Johnstown skyline is getting a little greener.
Bottle Works Ethnic Arts Center in the Cambria City neighborhood is breaking ground on a new green roof project.
The space will serve as a storm water conservation system, an outdoor classroom and an event venue.
“Come here and just sit and enjoy the afternoon, have parties and galas here. It will just simply add to the overall ambiance of everything that’s available at Bottleworks,” said Don Zucco, the vice chairman of the Bottle Works Board of Directors.
Construction should start this summer and the green roof should be complete next spring.
The $450,000 project will employ all local contractors and landscapers.
