If you’re traveling out of the Altoona-Blair County Airport in the near future, your visit might be more enjoyable.

The airport is pushing to get its liquor license for the second time. Airport Manager Tracy Plessinger said this would add value to the property.

With La Fiesta Mexican Restaurant moving into the vacant restaurant space, he said now is the time to get the license.

Plessinger added they want to provide the best travel experience to its visitors.

“Our goal at Altoona-Blair County is to…we are a small airport but to have the services that a big airport would have only on a smaller scale, so we don’t have a dozen restaurants where you can eat, but we have one, nice restaurant, and hopefully that restaurant will be able to serve alcoholic beverages in the future,” Plessinger said.

The restaurant is expected to open at the end of this month, and petitions will be distributed starting in mid-February to put the question on the ballot for the May primary elections.
