The IRC Municipalities will be having fall yard waste collections for residents in Altoona, Hollidaysburg, and Logan Township.
Materials collected at the curbside will be composted or mulched at the IRC Compost Facilities, located on Blacksnake Road or Dunnings highway. Both facilities will be open year-round for residents to drop off organics and recycle.
Leaves and grass clippings should be in a paper bag and can not weigh more than 50 pounds.
Brush should be bundled and less than six feet in length and less than three inches in diameter.
Whole trees, stumps, and root balls will not be collected.
All materials should be placed at the curbside by 7 a.m.
Yard waste collections will be collected in Altoona from October 22 to November 26. Visit IRCenvironment.org for the zone map.
Yard waste collections will be collected in Logan Township from October 15 to November 30. Residents can also rake their leaves to the curb to be picked up by the leaf vacuum. The vacuum can only pick up leaves.
Yard waste collections began on October 1 to November 12 in Blair Township.
Hollidaysburg Borough Public Works Department will be picking up yard waste on the East side of Penn Street and East side of the Borough on Mondays. The West side of Penn Street and West side of the Borough will be collected on Tuesdays. The collection began on October 1 and will continue through December 4.
Collections in Antis Township will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in the designated zone.
Prepared yard waste will be collected throughout all of Allegheny Township. Materials should be placed at the curbside.
