Police say that while the surveillance photos and descriptions line up all of these robberies, they won’t limit themselves in this investigation.
Lt. Ben Jones explained, “We can’t get tunnel vision as investigators and make an assumption that there is only one robber out there. Obviously the similarities aren’t lost on us but we do have to keep an open mind and make sure that we look into every possibility.”
The surveillance photos from the first three robberies show the suspect is dressed in a dark hoodie and jeans with a bandanna over his face. The photos from the latest robbery at Fe Fi’s in Altoona shows a different colored hoodie but a similar bandanna. In all of the robberies the suspect was holding a hand gun.
Police say that they are doing their best to identify possible targets for future robberies but with the variety of convenience stores in the area it is difficult to pin them down. Police say they have received tips and continue to follow up on any information they receive.
Lt. Jones said, “We’re putting a lot of resources towards this investigation and we really hope to bring this to a conclusion soon before anyone gets hurt or the suspect gets hurt.”
