PennDOT announced changes to the traffic patterns along route 22 in Frankstown Township.

The contractor will begin working to remove and reconstruction the wall through the Geeseytown Cemetery. traffic will be restricted on Route 22 to one lane through the cemetery utilizing temporary traffic lights.

All of the work must be complete by the start of the 2017-18 school year.

Overall, work on this project consists of realigning Route 22, Frankstown Road, Resevoir Road, and Lock Mountain Road.

Work began in 2016 on the existing bridge that carries Resevoir Road over the Frankstown Branch of the Juniata River. Work continues this season to replace the existing bridge with a two-span bridge that will connect Frankstown Road and Resevoir Road.

Traffic will continue to use the existing structure until the completion of the new bridge. There will also be an extension made to the existing culvert that carries Route 22 over Brush Creek.

All work on the $7.3 million project will be completed by October.
