A West Hills Regional Fire Department truck was severely damaged during a training exercise Thursday.
Truck 28, which is a 105-foot ladder truck, was being used when the cab caught on fire from an unknown mechanical failure.
Chief Robert Tauber said no one was injured, but the truck is now out of service.
Although the department is now short a truck, no services will be impacted to the community.
