This week in the Bald Eagle area, the district is holding a camp to help incoming kindergarteners get ready to attend school.
For the three days they are spending several hours meeting teachers, doing crafts, touring the school and bus and of course making friends.
“Kindergarten is a huge step, its a big step not only in the students lives but in the parents’ lives,” said James Orichosky, Principal of Wingate Elementary. “So what it does is it just helps the transition from heading into school, it gives them the opportunity to see the routines. It’s just a nice transition into kindergarten.”
The students will also learn how to use the new technology in the classroom.
