WEST MIFFLIN, ALLEGHENY COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Kennywood Park has responded after a change in one of their staple food items caused some controversy on social media.

“We have heard from many of you about a new cheese sauce being tested at the Potato Patch here at the start of the season,” the park said via their Facebook page.

“We greatly appreciate your feedback and passion, and want to let you know it’s been heard. We will be going back to serving Patch fries with the traditional cheese that’s made the Potato Patch one of Kennywood’s most popular attractions.”

Many visitors took to the park’s Facebook page to complain about the change.

One visitor even shared a photo of the new cheese. That post got dozens of comments from people also voicing their displeasure.

The park will open daily for operation beginning on Thursday, May 23.
