Folks in Blair County met with EMS and law enforcement officials August 7 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. to learn what to do in an active shooter situation.
“Survival Mindset” taught folks at the Blair County Convention Center with classroom courses, and drills that help build muscle memory and encourage fast responses to dangerous situations.
The founder of the group says training events like this make a big difference when it comes to saving lives.
“We’re seeing over and over again, where people have had training like this, it has a significant impact on preventing these types of situations, because people recognize what to look for,” said Rick Capozzi, Founder and President of Capozzi & Survival Mindset. “And then if an event does happen to play out, they know what to do to minimize the impact.”
The group will continue offering those events across the state, and will be in Chambersburg on Monday, August 20.
