K9 handler charged with theft

BROOKVILLE, JEFFERSON COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ)– A Jefferson County deputy sheriff is charged for stealing office funds.

24-year-old Kyle Pisarcik of Sykesville waived his preliminary hearing Thursday.

According to the criminal complaint, Pisarcik is charged for stealing $5,978.44 from the sheriff’s office K9 fund.

The complaint said Pisarcik wanted to be a K9 handler so he raised funds for the department to purchase K9 Iron.

Investigators said Pisarcik forged fake purchases using the K9 program’s bank account.

Investigators also said he admitted to writing checks to himself using those funds because he was facing financial troubles.

Pisarcik is charged with theft by deception and forgery.
