Juniata Cheerleading prepares for new year

Our Jordan Tracy spent Monday morning with the Juniata College Cheerleading Team to see how they are preparing for the start of the new school and athletic year.

Head Coach Justine Black preaches “professional advocacy.” She says it teaches the team to present their ideas and viewpoints professionally which translates into the real world. For example, it helps with dealing with professors and with their bosses.

Black also explained how the team gets involved in the community and takes pride in helping the younger generation of cheerleaders.

The first home football game is September 8th at Knox Stadium against Franklin & Marshall. It’s their “Gold game” where money is raised to support children with cancer. Kickoff is at 1pm.
